Development and editorial material moved from the article — 27 October 2026

The following original passages were moved or rewritten to keep Night Vision Goggles focused on operating in Vieneo. They are preserved here as development history, editorial context or source material, not as current operating instructions. Player-facing limits and controls are retained in the article where applicable.

Source: Night Vision Goggles, revision 4994. The excerpts below preserve the original wikitext, including any obsolete statements and links.

Night Vision Goggles (NVG) enhance available light in the first-person view. Rise uses a color night-vision presentation.
The enhanced cockpit, display and cloud-lighting behavior described below is available in the x64 client. It follows available light during ground and hover operation, atmospheric flight, ascent, suborbital coast, orbit and re-entry. Airspeed and Autoflyte engagement do not select the effect. The in-world simulator retains its existing lighting and display behavior.
Enhancement follows current lighting in both ascent and descent, including above-cloud, suborbital and orbital views. Cloud opacity and weather are unaffected. The goggles use Rise's color night-vision presentation rather than a measured spectral simulation of Vieneo's atmosphere.
