Talk:ECS
From Rise: The Vieneo Province
Documentation audit — 1 November 2026
The player article now distinguishes pressure regulation from breathable gas conditioning and identifies the surface, atmospheric and space-capable vehicle groups. Classification was checked against the client cockpit definitions and server VehicleTypes definitions. Automatic cabin control and warning descriptions were checked against the client pressure and CAS paths, with the server's offline pressure path inspected separately.
The previous ECS article preserves an aircraft-style list of pre-pressure, abort, initial/enroute climb, cruise, descent and touch-and-go modes. That detailed schedule is not implemented by the current Rise cabin controller and is retained in revision history as reference material, not player operating instructions. The old 60 km target claim and placeholder warning altitudes likewise should not be treated as verified behavior.
Existing approximations remain: client and server use a 7.5 km exponential pressure profile; client default approach targeting uses radio altitude whereas offline server default targeting uses surface MSL; weather BarometricPressureMb represents surface pressure, which is not generally ambient pressure at an airborne carrier. The surface-car correction does not recalibrate aircraft schedules or resolve those separate limitations. Carrier-bay pressure currently follows the carrier cabin when closed, rather than a separately simulated bay atmosphere.
See the habitation premise and research note for the distinction between approved Rise worldbuilding and real-world saturation-habitat evidence.

Per-vehicle pressure specifications — 1 November 2026
Cabin pressurization and rated pressure differential are now individual article parameters in Template:Vehicle, forwarded by GroundVehicle, AirVehicle, AerospaceVehicle and SpaceVehicle. The vehicle and Deois category pages contain general guidance rather than per-model pressure lists.
The rating source is the client’s Viewscreen/cockpit.cpp: blastProofMaxDiffMb = 2100.0f for A-4 and T-19; negativePressMaxDiffMb = 2400.0f for E-10, E-11, P-13, W-6 and Camelot EVA. Despite the latter constant’s name, PressureDiffMb is cabin minus surrounding pressure and the limit check is positive-only. These are mbar differential, not absolute setpoints or bidirectional ratings. An adjacent older comment mentioning 2000 mbar is not the assigned 2100 mbar value.
The ground-vehicle pressure path equalizes C-2, C-2A, C-98, T-120, T-121 and T-27 to their surroundings; their default FLT_MAX limit is a sentinel, not a physical rating. Legacy C-2 and T-120 wiki titles redirect to C-2A and T-121, where the older models are also documented. DIHV, MMAC, Monarch and Starskimmer retain unspecified pressure fields because no matching finite cabin rating was verified.
Modules/CAS.cpp uses the baseline rating for DIFF PRESS. Structural failure in Viewscreen/framemove.cpp uses that rating multiplied by 0.5 + min(hullintegrity, windshield) / 127, ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 for the normal condition range. That damage-dependent failure margin is not a higher operating rating. The server vehicle definitions do not supply a matching differential-pressure rating; no server enforcement equivalence is claimed. This documentation change does not alter any pressure constants or vehicle performance.
