Drag in flight
There are 4 forces acting on an aerospace vehicle in flight.
- An aircraft will accelerate as long as the Thrust is greater then the drag.
- The aircraft stay the same indicated air speed when Thrust and drag are equal.
- The aircraft will slow down when drag is greater then Thrust.
=Drag as action
The act of moving an object over or through another is called dragging.
Dragging two objects over or through each other causes friction were the 2 meet.
At very high speeds this may lead to Aerodynamic heating.
Examples:
I am dragging the bag on the ground.
The anchor is dragging in the water.
