A Backpack is a personal inventory item that increases the total weight allowance checked when transferring items from a vehicle into personal baggage.
With a backpack already in personal inventory, this allowance is (Strength modifier + 10) × 15 lb, compared with (Strength modifier + 10) × 8 lb without one. It does not add inventory slots or remove the separate per-item lifting limit. No Use command is required for the carrying allowance.

The backpack is a possible random special find at O-4 Salvage. Salvage finds enter the territory inventory and can then be loaded through the site's Inventory Management menu. No current retail purchase route is documented; the item's reference value is not a shop offer.
