Bradbury Apartments
From Rise: The Vieneo Province
When your character is created, you are automatically assigned a biometric key for a unit in the Bradbury Building. Please make note of the unit number (2418 is the 24th floor, unit 18).
The Bradbury Apartments are in the Deois Transit District, Sector One.
Construction of the east tower was completed in 2220.
Air and pressure
Bradbury provides conditioned, breathable residential air near the local ambient pressure, consistent with ordinary life on Vieneo. Oxygen is controlled by partial pressure and outdoor contaminants, including sulfur dioxide, are removed. High total pressure does not make untreated outdoor air breathable.
Apartments, the garage and surface cars are approximately pressure-compatible. The reference street pressure in Deois is about 2527 mbar (2.49 Earth atmospheres absolute) at 300 m MSL. Upper floors have a modest pressure difference because of elevation. Leaving the apartment for a car and driving out of the garage is not a large pressure-lock transition.
The C-2, C-2A and C-98 are unpressurized surface cars: their cabins follow the surrounding pressure while providing conditioned breathing air. For pressurized aircraft, spacecraft and orbital transfers, see vehicle pressure arrangements.
